Our Grants
Education Grants
Annual education grants are available for registered owners in the blocks administered Te Hanga South Lands Trust, and/or their direct descendants. The Trust offers three education grants, Tertiary; Secondary, and Special.

Koroua Kuia are entitled to apply for a grant from the Trust every year.

Education Grants
Tertiary Education Grant
The applicant must show that they are an owner, a descendant of an owner, or a beneficiary of a Whanau Trust that holds shares in the Te Hanga South Trust by producing a verified copy of their whakapapa signed by an owner or kaumatua. Must be enrolled and attending, a Whare Wānanga, University, Institute of Technology or recognised Tertiary Institute where the course is a NZQA accredited or Mana Tohu Matauranga o Aotearoa.
Secondary Education Grant
The applicant must be a parent/guardian of the student/s. The applicant must show that they are an owner, a descendant of an owner, or a beneficiary of a Whanau Trust that holds shares in the Te Hanga South Trust by producing a verified copy of their whakapapa signed by an owner or kaumatua. Where there are more than one student of the same whanau attending the Secondary School their costs can be included in this application as well.
Special Education Grant
The applicant must show that they are an owner, a descendant of an owner, or a beneficiary of a Whanau Trust that holds shares in the Te Hanga South Trust by producing a verified copy of their whakapapa signed by the owner or kaumatua. Where this application is not for the applicant then the person requiring a special needs education grant must be an immediate whanau member of the applicant.

Applications with incomplete information can not be processed.
Koroua Kuia Grants
Grant Policy
The Trust shall support Koroua Kuia by way of grants.
It is felt that Koroua Kuia should be supported by the Trust for their long standing contributions to the whenua and the Trust.
Grant Application
All applicants must be 60 years of age or older at time of application.
An applicant may only receive one Koroua Kuia Grant from the Trust on any 12 month period.
